Scripture: Psalm 113
Focus Verse: Psalm 113:3
From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the Lord is to be praised.
Commentary: Psalm 113 is a psalm of praise which is read before every Passover meal. Praise is central to the celebration of Passover, for this is a reminder of God’s abiding presence in our lives, God’s eternal plans, God’s promise to hear and help us, and God’s provision for our needs. We cannot help but praise God!
Reflection: What do you praise God for? How do you experience God’s presence in your life?
ACTS Prayer
Adoration: O God, Divine Artist, with the sky as your canvas, you create with bold beauty, I’m in awe of you!
Confession: I’m guilty of sometimes ignoring the beauty of creation because I am too wrapped up in my little world.
Thanksgiving: Thank you for creating beauty in the chaos.
Supplication: I pray for our planet and for those who are working to keep it sustainable for generations to come.
ACTS of Faith: Watch the sun rise in the morning and/or the sun set in the evening and gaze in wonder at God’s creation.
