Cruelty

Scripture: Mark 15:21-26
Focus Verse: Mark 15:25
It was nine in the morning when they crucified him.
Commentary:  On his way to fulfilling Isaiah’s prophesy, Jesus is cruelly crucified, ordinary nails driven into his flesh. Nails were the tools of a carpenter’s trade, used daily in his former occupation. And yet nails were also the tools of torture in the Roman world.  Archeological evidence indicate that nails were driven through the side of the foot, each foot nailed to the opposing side.  Nails may have been driven into his hands, but just as likely through his wrists.

Reflection:  What does it do for you to know and understand the extend of the suffering Christ endured when he was crucified?  How does that deepen your faith?

ACTS Prayer
Adoration:  Jesus, Humble Carpenter, One Who Endured Pain for the World, I lift you up with tears in my eyes!
Confession: I weep for my transgressions for they are many
Thanksgiving:  Thank you for enduing pain on my behalf.
Supplication:  I pray for those who endure pain needlessly.

ACTS of Faith:  Take off your shoes and ponder the faith journey of your feet.
