Giftedness

Scripture: 1 Peter 4:7-11
Focus Verse: 1 Peter 4:10
Serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received …

Commentary:  In this passage, we hear about the community after Jesus has departed his physical body on earth. The community grew and matured in love.  Servanthood is an embodiment of our love for God and an expression of our discipleship.  It isn’t a question of “if” you serve others, it is about “how” you serve them.  Each of us has been differently gifted in order to serve as we are called.

Reflection:  How have you been gifted to serve?  How is the way you serve others an embodiment of your love of God?

ACTS Prayer
Adoration: Great Heart of Love, your love is amazing!
Confession: Sometimes your love is blocked in me
Thanksgiving:  Thank you for showing me how to embody your love through serving others.
Supplication: I pray for the church and the world to notice your loving presence and to allow you to heal our divisions.

ACTS of Faith:  Take a look at your calendar, determine your priorities, and volunteer some time to honor God.
