Eucharist

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Focus Verse: 1 Corinthians 11:24b
Do this in remembrance of me.

Commentary:      At the last supper, Christ instituted the practice of Eucharist for Christians.  Eucharist means “thanksgiving” and embodies the sense of celebration found in the Passover.  The Eucharist service is also called “Holy Communion” which evokes the sense of communal solidarity we experience, not just with our companions on earth but also with all the saints in the company of heaven.

Reflection:  How do you sense the presence of the company of heaven and your solidarity with all Christians throughout history when you partake of the bread and cup?

ACTS Prayer
Adoration: Bread of Life, you are sustenance for the world!
Confession: Forgive me for not remembering you and trying to find satisfaction and sustenance in other things
Thanksgiving: Thank you for counting me worthy to partake of the bread and cup even though I am not.
Supplication: I pray for those who feel so unworthy that they will not partake of the bread and cup.

ACTS of Faith:  Remember Jesus with Joy!
