Emptiness

Scripture: Matthew 27:62-66
Focus Verse: Matthew 27: 63b
“After three days I will rise again.”
Commentary: These words struck fear into the hearts of the chief priests and the Pharisees.  This did not believe Jesus would rise, but they did believe there was a plot to steal his body and pretend he had risen to trick the people into believing.  They sought and received permission to seal the tomb with Jesus’ body within it.  But Jesus’ words came to pass … the tomb IS empty!

Reflection:  How does emptiness feel to you?   Where is God in your emptiness?

ACTS Prayer
Adoration:  Caregiver of the Night, your presence holds us!
Confession: I am not sure I know you are with me in my emptiness, when I feel that space around me I lose myself.
Thanksgiving: Thank you for sending Jesus to show me the way to be still and wait for your movement.
Supplication:  I pray for people who feel like their emptiness means you are not with them.

ACTS of Faith:  Pick up the phone and call an old friend or family member you haven’t spoken to in years.  Just say hi and let the conversation unfold.
